How is Violet addressing the financial barriers with STIs in this website?

At violetproject.org, all of our resources are completely free and available for ALL youth! Anyone who is 26 or younger, and living in Maryland, is able to order an STI test kit to their home at NO cost. We test for the most common STIs, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Trichomoniasis (for female patients only) using a swab that can be done by the participant at home. They then return their samples, at no cost, to a lab where it is processed. Youth will then be notified if they test negative. If they test positive, they will be contacted by our doctor for a FREE medical consultation and prescription. If needed, we can also offer FREE treatment, so that the people using our services can remain confidential and utilize all of our services at NO cost. Anyone is also able to reach out to us directly to ask questions and get resources, or use our website for medically-verified, youth-focused health information.

By being online and with completely free services, we are removing financial barriers to accessing STI information, testing, and treatment and providing services for ALL youth. If you have further questions, email info@violetproject.org.
