If I had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago and my period was due yesterday, am I pregnant?

While we cannot tell you online if you are pregnant or not, your period being 1 day late does not necessarily mean you are pregnant! Your period can change month to month for many reasons. For example, stress, exercise, regular hormone fluctuations, and other factors can affect when your period comes, how much you bleed, and the amount of discomfort you feel. So, if your period is 1 day late, this can be totally normal without being pregnant.

However, if you had unprotected sex (no birth control, condoms, etc.), and your period does not come for a few days, we recommend you take a pregnancy test. You can get a pregnancy test from your local pharmacy or other stores.

Also, if you had unprotected sex, we recommend you get tested for STI's (sexually transmitted infections). You can order free, at-home tests at violetproject.org/store. Here you can also order free safer sex products, such as condoms! Also, you may want to consider talking with your doctor about birth control options (e.g., pill, IUD, implant) to help lower your stress about pregnancy!
